Music Spotlight: Daniel Merriweather

while australia may yield beauty in many forms there are few things that can compete with beaches & wildlife, but then i found this gent. i felt compelled to finally make use of my Shazam phone application when i heard Daniel Merriweather playing in a store last year. i feel like he should be one of the more well known names in our part of the world, but i do tend to favor the smooth tastes of soul, rhythm/blues, & anything laced with old school class. in addition to releasing the Love & War album in June of 2009, Merriweather has also collaborated with a slew of respected artists. preview his debut album and his videos below. (the first features Wale & the second being a remix of the classic "Stop Me" with Mark Ronson). sounds to me like it might be the right time to save the world & start making some babies. -Lethal

Drink & Doodle: Vol.2 Recap (ABV x Streetela)

ABV Gallery hosted another incredible event with the help of their wonderful sponsors. The pioneers at Streetela also joined the event to have some of their new live videos screened which featured local artists and their works.  The creative collective group of artists at ABV had brand new works adorning the gallery walls plus batches of signature screen-printed shirts. Special thanks to Oh Snap Kid for capturing the night.

Suggested Reading: The Dreamer Comics

so i realize these may not be the preferred readings of many male readers but The Dreamer comics are still an intriguing series regardless. a seventeen-year-old beauty lives the normal, yet above average, life of a high school teen but when she sleeps she is living a life in the past. in pursuit of answers and a romantic mystery hero she dreams on through 1776 in the midst of the revolutionary war. the comics are available in printed issues & there is currently one digest. if you aren't ready to purchase a book yet then lucky for you it can be read free at www.thedreamercomic.com. the stories are written & illustrated by female author Lora Innes. check out the official site for more information & fun stuff like free wallpapers and a short trailer preview.  -Lethal
